Due to the wonderful feedback (thank you, thank you, thank you!!) I have written another short drabble-ish tale.

It's a wonderful idea, and fairly well executed. Your sentence structure could use a little work - a comma here, a semicolon there, as you tend to have run-on sentences. I would suggest you find a beta with a good grasp of grammar.

On the whole, though, a sweet little ficlet, and Elphie was very in-character, in my humble opinion, to be justifying it to herself. :) I'd like to read more of your work, keep writing!

I've said it before and I will say it again, I suck at grammar. The thing is I could get someone to beta but since I usually only write short drabbles It seems like a waste to me.

I have a slightly longer fic in the works right now and I'll try to watch the run on sentences as much as I can in that.

I'm glad you thought Elphie was in-character, she seems to me like the kind of character that would try to explain everything, try to put it in a box, and if she couldn't do that she would be perplexed, and continue to try.

It's not a waste, believe me. I can be thrown out of a fic - even a ficlet - very quickly by spelling and grammar mistakes, and my friends in fanfic_rants have convinced me that I'm not the only one, by far.

You have a great grasp of character...if you'd like someone to just proof for grammar 'n such, I'd be perfectly willing :)
