Pro-vegetarian

I was just looking at some video clips from this website about cruelty to animals, vegetarianism etc... nir1 gave me the link to it. I'm already a vegetarian, so the clips don't really make me feel guilty [except about eggs and milk products], but one clip made me cringe at the sight of the horrid conditions under which animals are kept.

5 Good Reasons to Eat Your Dog [dog owners, you can watch it, it's ok] talks about why it's simply better to eat your dog or cat rather than eat animal commercially "raised" animals, for five different and very good reasons. Of course, you're not really supposed to eat your dog after watching this.. The clip is presented by Omer Barnea who sounds vegetarian/vegan to me [and is pretty hot - I know cannibalism is frowned upon, but can I, please?!]
The clip is in Hebrew, but there's a translation underneath the video.
It's a pretty moving clip, especially the part where they kick and whip the cows and remove its horns.
And yes, there are pigs in the video. Yes, it's a Jewish state.. but the rabbis can go to hell with their constant chatter about kosher and treyf.

I know the clip is from Israel and these conditions don't prevail everywhere.. but they do in most places. I turned vegetarian even before watching these videos, but one of the reasons why I switched to vegetarianism is because of the inhumanity with which these animals are treated. I mean, debeaking a chicken - are you out of your mind? Keeping calves in a 2m × 1m cage to prevent its movement in order to keep its meat soft and white - have you no children? Argh..
But hey, at least I picked up a few Hebrew words from those clips.

Now I dunno why, all of a sudden, I'm posting about Israel and dogs so much, lately.

animals, vegetarianism, israel, dogs, cruelty, hebrew
