Poisoning my brain

I was standing outside school with Kaye today, at the bus stop because Kaye was waiting for the bus. My friend Danielle showed up out of nowhere and Kaye's bus came and Kaye left.
Danielle and I started talking and she told me about her cousin in Canada who did pre-med and got like a 12.0 GPA [isn't it out of 4.0?], scored a 94% on his MCAT and is a real brain and everything - but he didn't get accepted into any medical school. She said that to get into med school there, you either have to have some contacts in the management of the med school or you have to have a Jew in your family.
Danielle was all like, 'Oh it's useless to go to Canada for medicine... you'll work and you'll work and you won't get in.' I won't lie, I was pretty dumbfounded and even a little afraid. Canada is like my only hope now.

But having thought over it, what she told me about the admission process is a bit silly. I mean, you must have a Jew in your family?! They don't even require you to have that in med schools in Israel - the Jewish state!! That MUST be pure myth. And what about students who don't have contacts in the administration? I don't think they can simply reject applicants with such good GPAs and MCAT scores just because, unfortunately, all their family members are Catholic or because they don't invite the med school's dean over for brunch on Sunday morning. There must've been something else to that story that Danielle told me.. I'm just having a hard time believing it.

In related news, the Ontario Universities' Application Centre's website says that the 105F application form [for international students] will be available by mid-September. Well, it's past mid-September, mister!
