On Sunday, we were invited to my aunt's place for lunch, so the afternoon was spent there. After that, I slept for a bit at her place and we planned to go out somewhere in the evening because it was the end of the week.
So we cousins - Mona [Zainab], Najju, Nisreen, Munira, Nafisa, Abeer - along with my brother and I went to Moksh, a nightclub-ish place in Sadar, Nagpur. We went in and found out that the disco was closed for some reason. So we just sat down and then loudly discussed going to some other place. The waiter was just about to put down a few glasses of water on our table when Abeer proclaimed, "Let's go to Bunkers.." and hearing that, the poor waiter went away leaving us thirsty. Then we got out of Moksh and stood on the sidewalk, discussing where we should go next. My brother and I found no fault, as such, with Moksh, so we voted to go back inside. It was beginning to rain, so that gave us all the more reason to go back inside to Moksh.
So we went in there and sat down at the same table once again. The waiters were giving us murderous looks and I saw and overheard one of them, while talking to his colleague, gesturing towards us and saying, "These people are going to Bunkers.." Jeez! We have such a reputation for pissing people off.
Anyways, we asked the waiter if they had hookah and they said that the only hookah they had wasn't working. That was the final straw. We left Moksh, never to return [in the same evening, at least].
At Bunkers, we had some punch and some pizza and some horrible, horrible coffee-flavored hookah. There was no frikkin' smoke in it! The guy put so much water in it that when my brother took the first puff, he spat water out. Later, after a round or two of puffs, my brother said the hookah tasted funny.. of fungus. So that was the final straw at Bunkers. We left Bunkers and then finally had dinner at Fast Food, a place on the other side of town in Dharampeth.
Despite all the disappointments at the different places [including the lizard below the tubelight at Fast Food], I enjoyed the evening. Hanging out with cousins carries its own satisfaction.
