Yesterday, my folks and I went swimming at the community pool.
I showered and climbed down into the pool.. I think I'd finished half a lap or so when I realized that I had something in my pocket [who the hell makes pockets in swimming shorts?!]. I clenched my teeth in dread - it was my poor, mazloom cell phone. So that was the end of the faithful little thing. All the attempts to dry and subsequently resuscitate it were grossly unsuccessful.
Now, I swear I hadn't planned to kill my faithful [albeit irritating] Motorola phone like that so that I could get a new one. But Papa had been asking me [and abhishek_kar had been pressing me] to say goodbye to the old dude and move on to a better one. So this little incident finally pushed things into their right places and today evening, I got a new cell phone from Jumbo Electronics. The bastards didn't have the phone I wanted.. the one with the protective outer shell [designed for klutzes like your's truly]. I asked them why the product was on their website if they didn't sell it - the salesman just shook his head and said he didn't know.
Anyways, Ammi bought me a Nokia 6030.
In other news, I'm reading about things like the golden ratio, the golden angle and the golden function, along with logarithmic spirals and the silver number. All on Wikipedia. I'm turning into such a math nerd.
