Went to see Hairspray with my parents tonight - and ohmiholygod I did not expect the theater to be so damn crowded. I was incredibly puzzled by this, seeing as the theater was packed with tiny little teenyboppers who likely had no idea what Hairspray was ... I was incredibly puzzled, that is, until Zac Efron appeared on the screen and more than half of the theater let out a loud screech of frighteningly fangirlish proportions.

Oh, High School Musical, how you continue to taunt me with your addictively poptastic music and irritatingly cute cast members.

All things considered, however, the movie was rather fantabulous - the music has always been great, I kind of want to walk around in a poofy dress, and John Travolta left me torn between giggling madly and wanting to cry from fear. Which I really tend to think of as a serious POINT of win.

But - my god the FANGIRLS. It was ridonkulous. They were taking pictures and screaming and I mock-swooned onto my mother when the movie ended and wailed, 'Oh, Zac! Be still my heart!' Which earned me some glares that I was mighty proud of.

Mmm ... movies.
