WICKED stars Lucy Durack and Amanda Harrison shed their elaborate costumes this week to take some fabulous frocks for a spin in the lead-up to the opening of the eagerly anticipated stage spectacular.
It wasn’t a huge stretch for Durack to don the wickedly opulent gowns as her character Glinda the Good Witch is accustomed to exquisitely crafted costumes.
Durack confesses to being a "girly girl" who relishes any opportunity to frock up. "I love fashion. I’m getting so much enjoyment out of all of Glinda’s costumes," Durack says. Harrison on the other hand underwent a significant transformation from her painted green Elphaba the Wicked Witch of the West to opening night glamour girl. "I do love to get dressed up," she says.
Excitement and anticipation are evident in the wings as cast and crew work to have the $12 million stage spectacular set for the gala opening night on July 12. "The excitement is building, we can’t wait," Harrison says.
