What's Z-Day?

It's the day I woke up and my roommate was half-stuck in my door from having tried to break it down in her zombified rage.

Hi Spike. Vampire, right?

Ah, Zombie-day. Can't say I envy you there. Haven't come up across that many zombies myself, but they're nasty buggers.

That's me, yeah.

Yeah. I still have my own set of issues about vampires. I'm sure you get that a lot.

It's not the first time I've heard it.

I don't eat people. And I've got a soul. I've saved the world a good half dozen times or so, and I spend my nights back home beating up the uglies that want to hurt people. That help at all?

Sure, yeah. Half of it doesn't make sense -- souls are real things? -- but I think I can deal.

So what do you eat in place of people? Now that I think about it, I have met you before, once. Smooth talker.

Animal blood. But I don't think I'll ever be able to go vegan, so PETA and their supporters can bite me. And yeah, they really are.

...sorry, can't say I remember.

It happens. It wasn't anything particularly meaningful, anyway.

Does that have any negative consequences on your physiology?

Doesn't taste as good. But besides that, not really.

Can you eat normal food to break the monotony?

Can and do. Sometimes I mix 'em. You know, spices and crackers in blood. That sort of thing.

I have a soft spot for blood sausage. There, common factors. I'm really trying here, okay? Even though most of this conversation has largely grossed me out.

Yeah, I get that a lot.

I bet you get all kinds of freaky ladies with that strong and silent vampire thing.

"Strong and silent?" Who have you been talking to? Can't have been me, I don't really shut up.

I just assumed you were a moody prick with a woeful curse. We've only had a few conversations, and you've never been in the best mood.
