This seems more like a story made up to ignite debate then something that was actually witnessed by the writer.

So...it's not worth getting upset about, because it didn't happen.

1. Nobody's upset.
2. Maybe it did happen. You don't know.
3. Even if it didn't happen, I'd still like to try and encourage open-mindedness.
4. Stop commenting on my journal if you're just going to act like you know everything and play devil's advocate to whatever I post. It's starting to piss me off.

But that's my point, it's NOT encouraging open-mindedness. I wouldn't have said anything if it wasn't for that comment about hitting the teacher. If the teacher (real or not) is prejudiced against gays/lefties, and you're prejudiced against them for being prejudiced against gays/lefties, then you're not being any better. And assault is a whole different deal ( ... )

Here's a nicely phrased request then:

Please stop commenting on my journal. At least on things where your comment is going to spark a debate or make me angry. Thank you.

You might have good intentions, but your delivery needs work. I'm not prejudiced against people who believe that being gay is wrong. I'm prejudiced against people who take their beliefs and teach them to impressionable people, be it children or whomever. Everyone is entitled to their own beliefs and their own lives. People in a position of authority need to know this and stop forcing their beliefs on other people. Doesn't matter what you believe. If I were in a position of authority, I wouldn't teach my beliefs as if they were fact.
