gage that is. and terribly clever. we had cake yesterday... a birthday/mother's day cake. he knows that it's in the fridge (so that he doesn't steal it away and eat it all). he took me to the fridge asking "apple?" so i opened the fridge to get him an apple. he took out the cake, handed it to me and said "please?"

so he got a tiny sliver of cake. i must say that this year is the first birthday that he actually ate the cake. usually he just eats the icing off of it.

you know you watch too much deadliest catch when you look at the crab at the seafood counter and thnk "hmm... the opies look good..." not that i'm going to stop watching deadliest catch. ironically, opilio season episodes start tomorrow night. the king crab looked good too, of course... but the snow crab (opilio) looked better. the claws on the shoulders i got are gorgeously huge.

gage has an addiction to painting of late. particularly painting fabric. i'm running out of fabric to give him. yesterday he painted one of his sheets that i cut in half (since he just takes them off of his mattress and plays with them anyway). today he's painting a pillow case. i need to get some inexpensive fabric for him to paint. soon he'll be out of paint.
