Well the new year is here and some things have progressed I'm happy to say
-Ashaver
It's done! I've finally finished it. What a relief! I first of all wrote five dreamland chapters, each about 3,000 words long. They actually turned out differently then I intentioned, but I think they work better this way. And I kinda love the fantasy world I've created where it is all set. In the end I was a bit sad that I onl had such few scenes there.
Writing the last chapter and the epilog was a long and hard process. And one I did in one night! I think I wrote over 10,000 words on the last day, stalling when I came to the difficult part of actually having to kill my main charcter! I wept when I did finally do it but when it was all finished I felt excited and accomplished.
Now all that's left to do is beta read it and see if all the parts fit together. Hopefully that task will be finished later this month.
-Elemental (still working title)
The map is progressing nicely, and since I've gotten more and more into Tolkien once again, I really feel like this story should also have a lot more backstory to give it some depth. That's why I'm working on an extended list of notes right now including the history, geography, and so on. Oh and it's also one of the first stories where I came up with a character chart!
And now that nothing else is currently in my way I can really dive into the process of writing *iz happy*
Also I think I may concept the story in such a way that a triology can be born out of it. I know, I know! A triology is nothing new and I really didn't aim for it at first, but now with the story in my head it makes perfect sense. And it's going to be two major plots, one per book and then both combined in the last book. So perhaps a bit different then your normal trilogy.
And the characters are really starting to come to life, which is always a wonderful thing to see ♥
-LJ story
At least now I have a title:
autumndreama (a because no other lj username was free anymore)
I know the journal is blank now, but it will be filled, believe me.
Sadly there's nothing else new concerning this story as I've decided to concentrate more on my fantasy story right now. But it will not be put into the bin, just wandering into the closet for now.
General
I'm also proud (and a bit scared) to say that I have conceived a writing schedule for 2010:
I have to write something (no matter what or how much) every other day. If I succeed and write two days in a row then I get two free days. If I manage to write three days in a row I get three free days and so on. But my normal schedule will be: Writing day - Free day - Writing day....
The only breaks I'll allow myself will be when I'm on vacation or sick. So far I've managed to stick to it, let's see how the year progresses
