I don't know if you've read the actual sides to this spoiler but Kevin seems all gung-ho about surrogacy but Scotty is hesitant. It could be that this first episode has them talking over readiness and practicality issues after Scotty "pulls the reigns " on Kevin's eagerness yet again. If the writers follow their predictable, superficial formula, apologies will be exchanged and K&S will be conveniently journeying down the same baby-wanting path by the end of the first episode

I don't know if you've read the actual sides to this spoiler I did see them, which makes me think that there's going to be conflict there. However, I fear that it's more likely to follow the formula you described. Sigh.
I don't understand why K&R had to go through pregnancy difficulties In retrospect, I actually think it might have made the presidential campaign slightly interesting if they had kept Kitty pregnant and see how they dealt with that, personally and professionally/politically.
I can't recall MR saying that he didn't like working with children. Yeah, I don't remember where I read it, and it may very well have been hearsay or something.
I am a bit disappointed to see that not many people are complaining about it on Bloggers Me too! They took a while to update my comment, so I thought maybe that was it, but I don't think so. Maybe people are starting to feel/realize complaining is pointless...
Ida might be making a reappearance That would be AWESOME.
p.s. the new layout looks good! Thanks! I didn't design it,

In retrospect, I actually think it might have made the presidential campaign slightly interesting if they had kept Kitty pregnant... Just slightly *smirks* Maybe Calista didn't want to act as a pregnant Kitty. It's really awful when they come up with storylines that have potential but then they screw it up. I wouldn't include the presidential campaign as an example though. That was just completely unnecessary and a waste of time.
Maybe people are starting to feel/realize complaining is pointless... Sigh. I think it is. Clearly, no one's really listening. We just keep complaining to harass them now more than anything else...
Good to see a new writer's assistant providing some amusement at the very least. And those MR pics were gold!! His curls are back!! *sighs happily*
Heh. Wait. Slang ambiguity. Flamers as in trying to stir up trouble, gay or arsonists? Haha! I'm presuming he meant some of the posters being troublemakers. Apart from the stupidly homophobic ones, the rest of us are quite harmless with genuine grievances to make.
There might be one or two out there. Yeah, like that 'finger-licking' icon for example :)
Yeah, I figured that was it. As I understand it, flamers or trolls or whatever are people with no interest or investment in the actual material, and just pop in to make deliberately incendiary comments, never to be heard from again. That is, people like the homophobic "will-never-watch-again" posters. The rest of us are passionate, very knowledgeable about the show fans who occasionally (and more recently, frequently) raise serious concerns with the show's direction. And not to be incredibly rude, but we also understand the basics of spelling, grammar, and writing coherent sentences. An attitude like that just smacks of that whole "if you don't love every minute, you're not a true fan" perspective which annoys the hell out of me.
like that 'finger-licking' icon for example Hee. Rowr.
An attitude like that just smacks of that whole "if you don't love every minute, you're not a true fan" perspective which annoys the hell out of me. Same here. Loyal viewers who care so much about the show to the extent where we make the time and effort to provide proper feedback (both positive and negative) surely deserve better respect.
I'm not really sure why Bloggers exists if it's not used as a medium to engage with viewers and *actually* consider their opinions.
It's funny, because the same kind of discussion is going on right now re: Torchwood. What, if anything, do the writers, etc. owe fans? How much, if any, say should fans have in the direction of shows? And further, do the relatively few online "crazies" really represent the audience at large? I basically feel that, boiled down to basics, TV is a business, and without customers, you can't sell a product. Advertising, production costs, etc. depend largely on ratings and to a minor extent DVD sales or other merchandise. The problem with ratings, though, is they don't give you enough details. You can see a change in overall numbers or in specific demographics, but if you don't look to fan input (for example, online) then you don't know why. And what's more - online fans are the ones who are largely responsible for word-of-mouth through message boards, fan sites, organization of campaigns and so on. At this point, even with the obvious goal of getting younger viewers, the likelihood of them gaining enough new viewers to counteract

ITA ratings are hardly a precise measure. Unfortunately, it counts because that's what the network bigwigs base their decisions on and capturing viewership from that all-important demographic is what brings in the advertising moolah, as said. Personally, I think ratings are overrated (heh

Personally, I think ratings are overrated (heh!). Hey-oh! *bah-dump-chh*
If they're so rapt about attracting a younger audience (ie. 18-29), they should realise that these people are the ones who ARE online most of the time. This is very true. Plus, it's not limited to young people anymore. The internet is very accessible to all ages, as well as sexes and international audiences as well. People on the internet are probably a much better sample of the people watching, at least compared to what it used to be like. I also think that when people are dedicated enough to come and give their opinion - especially when so many people seem to be having the same opinion - that should tell you something. And it's not even anonymous viewers anymore! If you read some of the reviews by "professional critics" (I'm thinking of one from EW in particular), almost everyone is panning this season.
Instead, they rather waste this valuable yet cost-effective avenue of directly communicating with their viewers.Yeah, it's not like we don't know or

If you read some of the reviews by "professional critics" (I'm thinking of one from EW in particular), almost everyone is panning this season. Exactly. If the majority of critics are making fun of the show, surely one would sit up and take notice.
Or maybe some kind of paternalistic "they don't know what's best for them" kind of thing. You know, I'm starting to believe that this is the case. It just feels like they think they're above and beyond any criticism and they know better than anyone else.
Despite Bloggers not making the most of it, I'm glad that John K is in charge of posting these days. At least he's entertaining and funny and gets our favourite actors involved.
At least he's entertaining and funny and gets our favourite actors involved. This guy has to stay in charge of posting. He's hilarious. And clearly researched his audience well, because - hello! His first two posts mentioned MR and LM.
OTOH, I wish there was a way they could promote him to an actual writer, because it'd be nice to see that kind of wit, creativity, thought and attention to fan enjoyment given to the show itself.

Hee. I'm going to be there complaining as long as I can possibly stand it.
I kind of loved that blog. The picture of MR with Mickey? Awesome.
That icon of Luke is interesting, btw. He looks like a wax figure (in a good way).

Yeah, I'm not completely happy with this Scotty icon. His nostrils can take up too much focus sometimes. I might look for another cute pic of him :)

Likewise.
