NaNoWriMo Wipeout

Sooo...I decided to try NaNoWriMo this year. I signed up, got about 6K words done, and then just about everything that could go wrong did go wrong. Firstly, there were random and frequent power outages. Someone died while working on the base's antiquated power grid so the base scrambled and installed new safeguards and upgraded the system within a month. Which is pretty amazing they got it done that quickly. However it meant lots of planned and unplanned power outages-which made doing much of anything-let alone writing, pretty difficult. Then one of my dogs got sick. He woke up one morning and could barely walk or open his eyes. So even when the power was on I was running him to the vets on a nearly daily basis. Still no idea what happened to him. It's been three weeks and he's just now recovering. And before I knew it it was Thanksgiving and I needed to do all the prep work for that. So I decided that something had to give somewhere and that ended up being NaNoWriMo. I like what I've got written so far though so I'm going to save it and see if I can get more of it done after the holidays. Oh well-there's always next year!
