"Randomosity"
1) If you had to participate in one Olympic event what would it be and why? Bobsledding. It just always looked like it would be so much fun! And it reminds me of a water slide, really.
2) What is the one song you always sing along to? Oh man, there are a ton... I'm one of those really private car singers. :-P I guess the one that comes to mind first is "Tell Me Baby" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. There's just something about it - I can match the pitch perfectly. Another good one is "The Unforgiven II" by Metallica. It's funny - I tend to shift singing styles to match whatever I'm singing along to. :-P
3) Do you wear a seatbelt in the car? Yes, always. When I was in the 9th grade, it was mandatory for all of us to take a class called Life Management. They taught you how to fill out checks, how to perform CPR, safe sex, etc... One day they invited a lady named Diane to come and speak to all of us. About ten years earlier, she had jumped in her car to drive down the street to her friend's house. It was only like 12 houses away... On the way there, a car came speeding out of a side street and t-boned Diane's car. She was paralyzed from the waist down. :-( Needless to say, it made the desired impression on me and to this day I am VERY good about wearing my seatbelt, no matter how far I have to drive.
4) Car, SUV or truck? Why? Car. A 1999 Honda Civic EX, to be precise. I just wanted something compact that got good gas mileage. Tallahassee is not the best driving town - there are a lot of hills (which led to me getting an automatic) and the parking spaces are TINY! Plus, people drive like morons here. :-P ESPECIALLY when it's raining!
5) Are you a good/bad driver? Explain. I think that I'm generally a good driver. I do admit that sometimes I'll get impatient and probably drive a little too aggressively. And I've been in some close calls, but they were rarely my fault. The biggest mistake I've ever made while driving is not pulling over when there was a fire truck coming toward me from the opposite direction. I knew to pull over if they were behind you, but didn't know you had to when they were coming toward you. The truck swerved left suddenly and completely cut me off; to this day I have NO IDEA how I didn't plow head-on into it. The brakes on my parents' old Mercury Villager were magic...
A cop pulled me over afterward and I remember actually shaking while I was talking to him. He told me what I'd done wrong and sent me on my way with a warning... And I got it, you know? I goofed. But I still don't think that the firemen should have been willing to kill me in order to get to wherever they were going three seconds sooner. >=/ The funniest part was when the cop asked "Didn't you see their turn signal?" Dude - there were like twenty flashing lights on that thing! :-P And since the truck wasn't in the middle (turn) lane when it turned, how was I supposed to know!? Sheesh...
