The Weekend

Right... Well, first things first. My cleaning did not go exactly as planned:1. Fix my constantly-running master bathroom toilet.
2. Clean off and organize my kitchen counter.
3. Drop off my lawn mower at Sears for a tune-up.
4. Dust my living room.
5. Clear off my office bed and organize the stuff that's piled on it.
6. Ditto with my guest room bed.
7. Wash my sheets.
8. Vacuum my living room and master bedroom.
9. Clean out and organize my pantry.
10. Clean the trash out of my car.
I just didn't get a lot done. So I guess I'm going to give myself until Friday to do the rest. On the plus side, I did do a lot of things that weren't even on my list! The main one being clearing off and FINALLY getting rid of my old computer desk. That thing had been sitting in my foyer for close to two years. Every time I walked in my front door I would be hit in the face by the ultimate symbol of my own procrastination. NOT fun. I ended up giving it to Heather. She's going to get rid of the huge corner desk she has now and put mine in there.

On Friday night I chilled at home. I bought Justice League: The New Frontier the day before and settled in to watch it. Yeah... I wish I had just rented it. :-/ It was okay, but didn't blow me away by any means. I often judge the Justice League by how Batman is portrayed. In this movie he started off fine; dark and brooding... Then he scares a kid and redesigns his costume to be more "kid-friendly" (seriously). The next time he's shown, he not only has Robin (ugh) by his side but he's also wearing the stupid '60s costume with the weird upside down half-moon eyes and the fake eyebrows. UGH!

I also spent some time with Dan (mirrorglassball) and Erin (leanasidhe) in Second Life. Dan threw some Linden dollars my way, which allowed me to buy some decent hair for my little avatar guy. Then we did some exploring. I showed them the Statue of Liberty and the World Trade Center memorial, and we took in the Eiffel Tower and a pretty well put together Israel simulation. It always amazes me that people have taken the time to build all this stuff!

Me on the Israel beach. I need that shirt in real life. :-P

Riding the ferry at the Statue of Liberty.

On Saturday I did a little bit of cleaning in the morning, mainly clearing off that desk. Then I met my brother Brian for lunch at Famous Dave's. That is GOOD stuff! I went off to CompUSA in search of a new mouse pad after mine developed an annoying air bubble overnight. They didn't have anything, though - the store is closing and was incredibly picked over.

Later on Heather and I met her friends at BW-3s, where we had some good bar food (Parmesan-garlic boneless chicken wings for me) and played Buzztime trivia for a couple hours. I did pretty well and actually tied for first place in one of the games. We also played some Golden Tee and I finished under par. The place started to get packed around 9; everyone was showing up to watch the Ultimate Fighting Championship pay-per-view. We left before it got really crazy. :-P

Sunday was my lost day. I didn't sleep very well and ended up dragging myself out of bed at 1 in the afternoon. :-/ I don't know what my problem was! I basically had time to eat lunch, take Phoebe for a walk, talk to my parents for a while, and shower before I went over to Heather's for dinner. We ate some boneless ribs with sauerkraut while we watched Nascar with her folks. Racing isn't really my thing, but it was still pretty interesting. I came home, did my laundry, and settled in to watch the usual Sunday shows - Simpsons, King of the Hill, Family Guy, etc... I got my kitchen counter organized and cleaned too, which made me feel a little bit better. :-)

Not a bad little weekend!
