Trip's Eve

Jul 02, 2007 22:25

The big question: Will I be able to get any sleep tonight? I think so, but not much. The alarm is set for 3:45AM... I need to get up and be on the road to the Orlando International Airport by 4:30AM. Flight leaves at 7:15AM and the one-two punch of A) this being a holiday week and B) Jackasses driving flaming SUVs into the front of the Glasgow International Airport is making me very nervous. I want to be sure I have enough time to get through security.

After a 90-minute flight to Atlanta, I'll meet up with Heather and her mom for the next leg to Flint, MI. Her aunt Kel is going to pick us up there, and then I'll have a week in Michigan! Woohoo! I've been looking forward to this trip for a long time. I think we're all going to have a blast! :-) I've packed my aunt's extra memory stick, so expect a LOT of pictures when I get back!

I've had a pretty good couple of days with my parents. I was a bit disappointed that my old friend Derrick never returned my call... He lives in Orlando and I always try to meet up with him when I'm down here. Lately I can never get ahold of him... Oh well. :-/ We had a combo birthday party for my two uncles yesterday (Bill's is June 26th and John's is July 3rd). Also watched Eragon, which was decent despite the fact that it lifted every plot element from Star Wars. Today I went to the beach and did some body surfing, then my aunt Kathy came over and we watched Larry King interview the Beatles - or, as he put it, "the living and the widows." Lord. Hang up the suspenders, Larry. Between that joke of an interview (another gem: calling Ringo "George") and the Paris Hilton "you don't do drugs? Good enough for me!", that guy has NOT had a good week.

And now, I'd better finish packing. THEN and only then will I try and get some sleep. :-)
