is work the usual motivator to get a person posting?
work has me stressed out. my bosses are trying to get a big project building a 17-suite retail strip mall from the ground up. this is a $3 million dollar project. keep in mind we are a start-up. i'm the only employee. i have no commercial estimating experience. my biggest project so far has been a kitchen and bath remodel or two. now i'm being asked to do things I've never done before. i hate having the responsibility on my head. i mean, they know my background, and they aren't holding it over my head, but I feel like it is by default.
there's this guy, this project coordinator, who i have to deal with on one of my projects. i try to be a proactive manager, and i try to be friendly, and make an effort to keep the lines of communication open. i open them. well, i made such an attempt with this guy, and he was kindof a dick to me. that throws me off. i don't know how to deal with dicks too well.
Irit and I got our engagement pictures back. hoooray! we've been waiting for two weeks and have been anxious to see them. for my friends who might be reading this and who know that they haven't gotten the link yet... don't worry cause you will soon. probably tomorrow. my new picture is our favorite. is Irit a beauty or what??? do i look like a balding Tom Hanks or what???
by the way, Irit is my fiance. (most of you know that already) she lives in Canada. I'm in Arizona. we've been together for 5 years now, since late '02. we're getting to the end of the visa process. in two more weeks she'll pass her interview and then soon-after she'll move here. i simply cannot describe in words what a relief it will be. The distance between us, the infrequent visits, have been a great source of frustration. especially now that we are in the home stretch.
so many cliches come to mind, but i will spare you all of them. all that needs to be said is that i love her more than anything.
it's time for bed. night all. maybe it won't be another 8 years before I post again.
