Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to the nightly news. Our radio tower has finally been repaired, and we will return to our regularly scheduled programming.
In the news today, discussion became heated in Parliament today as delegates debated whether to re-open diplomatic ties with the former enemy nation of France. The hardline liberal factions argued that continued isolation would be poor for business relations and create a damper on the economy.
Liberal representatives present their position
On the opposite side, military representatives railed against this position, citing the horrendous losses incurred to the French during The War. Many veterans were present to lend support to their side.
Republican Army veterans listen stoically as their views are presented
More moderate politicians, both liberal and conservative, chose to side with the military faction, citing both the recent recuperation of the domestic economy and also in deference to the families of those lost. Parliament adjourned today without any sort of decisive conclusion being met. Parliament will reconvene at the same time tomorrow.
And that's the news for tonight. Don't forget to tune in tomorrow for the midday broadcast, same time, same network: "It's the E, E, EBC - Eddie Broadcasting Corporation"
