Wednesday evening swim workout

New this evening was an "Every Wednesday, before our swim workout, we will hold a free core workout". This fit nicely with me not knowing how to manage my time between after work and before swim at 7:30. So it flows better now, leave work at 6:20, core at 6:45, swim at 7:30, home by 9-ish. Better.

Coach Jen kicked our butt at the core workout, while Coach Andrea watched and chuckled. I do a little core, obviously not enough. And this morning I have those "next morning, post-exercise aches" that I don't recall having for months. All sorts of aching in places I didn't know I had places. Ugh. But a good Ugh :)

Then the swim! The swim clinics over the winter months were 2-3 people, the one just completed on Sunday was 3. That means one lane. And the rest of us could therefore spread over into 5 lanes. Sometimes we had a lane each, often just two of us circle swimming per lane, occasionally three in some lanes (it is a 6 lane pool). This evening the swim clinic intake was ~15 people, so they took 3 lanes. And there were more of the rest of us too. Scrunched into fewer -- the remaining 3 -- lanes, fast, faster and fastest. I think each lane -- swim clinic thru fastest -- each had 6 people in. That's do-able, but not what I've become accustomed too :( Whine, whine, whine. Still, only two more swim workouts!

I've not entirely thought through what I'll pick back up after my post-IMAZ period of inactive muscular atrophying, but I don't think it'll be these swim workouts :(
