I'll do anything to get out of a bike ride!!!
So last night Lee and I went on a bike ride. Lou offered to watch Ryan and let him play with Devyn and Dylan while we went out which was awesome! We dont really get a lot of alone time so it was a really nice ride. So Lee and i get about 1/4 way around Lake holiday (its a good 12-15 miles all the way around)when disaster strikes! We made it down the HUGE hill by the dam, which also has another HUGE hill going up it. I was quite proud that i made it up without walkin my bike...its a super steep hill. ANYWAYS... after a lil while we come to another steep hill, but not as tall. Well, stupid-ass me had my bike in a high gear to start with... I took my foot off the pedals (like a lil kid) and when i put my foot back on the pedal, it acted as a sling-shot, shooting my right foot into the ground toe-first. That didnt really hurt all that bad.....what did hurt however is that when my foot hit the ground, it slung my leg straight back into the big sprocket for the chain. We are talking a big round piece of greasy metal that has LOTS of jagged and SHARP edges. It gashed my lower right leg in five straight lines, one right after another. Chunks of me were left on the sprocket...it looked like a CSI crime scene!!!!!! Blood soaked my sock and shoe!!!! At first i screamed and thought my leg fell off. I was very relieved to find it still attached ( i was still on the bike and moving down hill at this time). Adreniline kicked in and i started biking uphill thinking it wasnt as bad as i thought. THEN, pain kicked in BIG TIME!!!! I stopped half way up the hill. Lee thought at first i was just bein a wimp playin around. THEN he saw the damage...and freaked! He was sooo awesome though...he imediately took off his sock (quick thinkin!) and wrapped my bleeding leg in it. I thought i was gonna pass out and throw-up!!!
I decided to get back on my bike cause it didnt hurt as much as walking did. We made it to a green-area with a picnic bench BEFORE the dam/big hill. Lee left me there and pedaled up that hill and about 2 miles to his house, hopped in his car and picked me and my bike up.
We decided it was a VERY good idea to go to the ER...he didnt let me argue, and i was in too much pain to do that anyways! Long story short...i ended up wtih 36 stitches!!!!!!!!!!
I guess my dreams of being a leg model are over! lol just kidding! It really really hurts today but i'm happy with the outcome, it could of been A LOT worse! I got a tetnus shot
thank GOD and the doc was super awesome. All the nurses said i was lucky cause he was the best doc for sewin people up! I love bike rides, unfortunately i'll have to wait atleast 12 days or more before i can get back on again. AND no sun tanning for 6-12 months. Damn!
Atleast i have a funny story to tell... and Lee defintaely proved his love...he was so sweet!
