Of course there's a disaster in some part of the world, in this case the tsunami in the Indian Ocean, and now everyone's itching for America to get involved. We just got smashed by four hurricanes but where were the Brits, French, and Germans then? Much like welfare, there's the usual complaints about the USA being "greedy" and "stingy." It occurs to almost no one that this money belongs to the taxpayers, not the government. The government doesn't create wealth, every cent it gets, it takes from somebody who worked for it through the use of force. I wish these same people (i.e. liberals) that are always talking about not imposing morality on everyone and letting people do as they please would realize how hypocritical it is when they impose their ideology on everyone else. With the income tax, the government can take as much of people's income as they want and then our high and mighty rulers can then give it to whatever cause they see fit. If that's not imposing morality, I don't know what is. Forcing people to pay for things they don't need or want is okay, you see, but Darwin have mercy on you if you put up a nativity scene on public property.
