Data Center Move!

I survived my first Data Center move!

Our grand total was (I believe) 243 servers moving from our old Data Center to the new one. Bear in mind this was only one move event, as there's something like...700 servers that are getting moved in total. Overall, the move went really, really smoothly. The only major issue was a network puke that caused some services to crash and a fiber storage card that decided to bite the big one. Both of which were very recoverable and fixed within minutes. Matter of fact, we were done something like 2 hours ahead of schedule, which goes to show that planning really can make something go flawlessly!

Hey, valuable experience is valuable. Though I didn't do a lot, I was able to see the process of how something that critical to a business was performed as well as participate and learn even more.

TLDR - I'm working way too hard but I'm learning like a bastard.

I'm finished at FM Global at the end of June. After that, I can relax and enjoy some time off...for a month. Considering I've been doing overtime pretty much every day for the past few weeks along with working weekends, it's been quite a busy ordeal.
