For me, one way to tell if I am going to enjoy a book is to flip ahead looking for dialogue. If there is essentially none, then my feeling is the story isn't really bouncing off the characters in that lively random way that means the story is telling itself by allowing them to interact.

I just wrote 8000 words of a dean/castiel fic with absolutely no smut in it. Sigh. Its just the scenes the characters acted out for me. They wanted to be in a certain story, and I gotta follow their wishes. I can't be crowbarring smut into their lives.

It's just roughed out really. Lotta " show not tell " being mightily ignored. But it has a lot of dialogue that I like. So, that's worth saving. Its speeches, actually. But it fits the moments.

Its all from Deans perspective right now. I might get more out of it if I do the Cas POV. We'll see.
