Why Do I Bother?

Jun 23, 2008 13:30

Last week, much of my office time was spent moving furniture and computers about to make room for two new employees who joined our staff. As the only male (besides the boss, who was out during this time) in the office, this required much sweat on my part, since there was much to be done. In the end, I moved five bookshelves, a credenza, a desk, two computer systems, too many boxes to bother counting, and cut holes for cables in the back of a solid wooden bookshelf (none of which is in my job description). We had everything nicely set up and ready to go.

Today, the boss decided that he wanted to be in a different office, which means that I will have to swap two computer systems around (having just gotten them situated and operational) and move two more desks and possibly a bookshelf! Why did I bother doing all that work in the first place?
