thanks, I loved it, and I'm glad I watched on my own so I could just bawl my eyes out!

I'm excited for 11, too, I think his energy will bring something new and fun and interesting!

I was bawling watching some of the tribute vids on YouTube!

I wasn't excited for 11 at first, but seeing him for that 2 minutes, I didn't hate him. I am nervous about all the changes though. New logo, new TARDIS... IDK the change from 9 to 10 was a pretty easy transition, maybe this will be too.

hmm...I think the change from 10 to 11 might be harder on us fans because we love David so much, and because for those of us who are newer to DW (like myself) he's been OUR Doctor for the longest. We only had Chris one season so while it was jarring, we weren't as attached.

I'm curious and kind of excited to see the changes the new team brings!

This is true. I did not have an emotional attachment to Eccleston the way I do with David (see I even use his given name like he's an old pal, lol ).

I'm fairly new to Who, I started watching in May of 08.

I am too, it just seems like SO much is changing. I guess I just want to hang on to everything that was Ten :(

Maybe it's better that there is such a change, so we don't compare them? IDK...

I think the fact Matt is younger will make a difference. I watched a few episodes of 'nine' last night and while I do remember liking Chris in the role (really the first Doctor I got into, all the old ones were so campy) I've loved David in it. Chris was charming and funny, but he didn't hook me emotionally the way David has. Sigh...he will be horribly missed!
