Day 02 - A show that you wish more people were watching

There's a couple, but the one I really wish more people were watching is Leverage.
I mean, if not for fandom, I'd have never heard of it much less seen it. I may be sort of alone in this, but I've never really watched cable TV shows. Like, I watch the shows on the main networks and I tend ( Read more... )

Hello *waves* I'm bored and it's raining and I finally figured out how to work my Friends page and saw this. I can't actually watch the videos because I can't watch streaming video with my crap internet, but thought I'd comment on how un-appreciated Leverage is.

What I think is funny is how in-bred this fandom is which is also how I think of Ck and his friends, very inbred, lol. On the other hand, my story of finding Leverage is very different. I didn't find Supernatural until season three and then I had to go back and buy the first two seasons.

I watched Leverage, though, from the first episode because I do watch cable tv and saw commercials for it. I watched Leverage because Timothy Hutton had been in an awesome and short-lived show called Nero Wolfe (based on books that my mom read). Also because I cannot stand to watch all the ER or CSI ripoffs. I had definitely seen Christian Kane before on Angel, Secondhand Lions, Just Married, Love Song, but I don't get as excited about actors as musicians so I didn't know his name or anything. He was just 'that hot guy from Angel' lol.

Funny thing is I would never have found CK's music and thus my great love of CK, if it weren't for my mom. I was at my parents' house over Christmas and made my mom watch Leverage. From the first second CK came on screen, my mom was like who is that and what other tv shows has he been on? She had watched some show with him but couldn't remember the name and you know how that just sticks in your brain until you HAVE to figure it out.

I had no idea and she was ruining my watching Leverage, lol, so I got out my laptop and went to Leverage then CK's IMDB page. The show was called Closer to Home if you care, but more importantly on the bottom of CK's IMDB page it says he plays country/southern rock. I think I fell in love with him right then.

Course then it took me months to figure out what was going on with his music career and Kane, but that's another story and this one is already long enough.

I think that's the best word for it...this fandom really is inbred. XD (and I didn't find Supernatural until late either...it was last summer, before the start of season 5. O.O)

I think I remember Timothy Hutton from something, but I can't place what it would've been...probably a movie or something. I love Secondhand Lions and I actually have it on DVD and I've watched it several times but I never really noticed him in it I guess(which I feel bad about now, because he's definitely gorgeous and awesome there too), and I've never seen him in Angel, though that's one of the shows I really, really want to watch.

I think it's funny that even coming at it from different ways, we both kind of stumbled into it through a chain of events and then just fell in love after that. ...I think Chris just has that effect on people. &hearts

I need to watch more of his stuff...Just Married, Closer to Home and Love Song; I haven't seen any of that. T.T

CK definitely has some kind of effect on people. His fanbase seems to be small but rabid (to use your own word). I will admit that even though I know that I have seen CK on Angel, I cannot remember anything about the show or his character or the plot. THough recently I read that CK himself didn't like the part because he was a 'pencil pusher', lol.

I saw Just Married because of my sister (I hate Ashton Kutcher's antics so I wouldn't have chosen it). I would never have picked up SecondHand Lions, but I saw it on the plane to France when I couldn't sleep and really enjoyed it.

What I think is funny is that in most of what I had seen CK in initially he was small and very young looking, you know, like pretty and hot. When I tuned into Leverage, I did not expect to see CK looking like /that/ (ie I think he looks a lot hotter now).

For me it's definitely the music that makes all the difference. Now I watch his stuff just because of him. I LOVED the movie, Hide, if you're interested. I also just watched Her Minor THing. He's adorable in it, but the movie made me feel ashamed of myself for watching, lol.
