This Season's Animu.

Here's what I'm currently collecting. Note that some of these have yet to even reach the 'Episode 3 test' (the second of the two tests to see whether I'll collect an animu - the first is ep 1).

Bamboo Blade - Comedy, Shonen Sports? - This is fantastic. Kendo Teacher makes a bet with his old master - form a squad of five girls and face his squad of five girls, winning a year's free sushi in the process. Drab premise, kind of spotty episode 1, then a completely retarded and wonderful episode 2 which featured THE MEN (headhit) THAT CAN PIERCE THE STARS and general abuse of straight-man characters and a lot of random good shit. Very turn-brain off, but I don't care. It's fun.

Dragonaut ~the Resonance~ - Dragonmecha, Angst, Squall - The big Gonzo one of the season and hahaha you can tell, wow, look at those women what. It's an unintentionally hilarious show because the main character is a supreme angstboy who looks like he's straight out of the latest swedish goth rockband but he perks up into a happy shiny loves-life guy right when the scantily-dressed heroine appears. It honestly looks kind of promising b-but prepare to laugh where you shouldn't.

Genshiken 2 - Manga Club Slice of Life, Jumping Out Windows - Uh. I don't actually recommend this if you don't know the canon - it follows directly on and does not explain a thing. If you know Genshiken you'll know what to expect - very referential and dry humour, the odd heartwrench, and there's actually a ton of material in here that wasn't in the original books. Good stuff.

Ghost Hound - What The Fuck, Is This Eva?, Is This Paranoia Agent? - Trippy. Very trippy. Also, endlessly, amazingly pretty. Only seen ep 1. It looks confusing. Will get more. Features Tiny Koizumi as one of the protagonists. Schoolkid gets narcolepsy, starts flying in spirit-like fashion when he does. Freaky shit occurs.

Night Wizard - Ripped Straight From Console, Where's The Stats Gone, Harem Party - Night Wizard is a straight-up anime adaptation of a fetch quest from the Night Wizard RPG and man does it show. The plot's retarded, the animation's sketchy, but somehow I kind of like it just because it has given up all pretense of sense and gone cliche-happy. Features the stereotypical 18-year-old with gigantic sword who just wants to get the fuck to school and not be dragged off on world-saving missions k.

Prism Ark - See: Night Wizard, Even More Harem Party - Yeah, uh, this is ripped straight from an h-game RPG from the looks of things! Even more harem, even more stereotypical fantasy party joins together to go take on the bad guys ONLY THEY'RE ALL FEMALE BUT THE LEAD. A-actually I really, really like this for several reasons - one, it's kinda badass in the animation style, two, it's a harem anime that COMMITS TO A FUCKING PAIRING ALREADY, and three, the lead character is using Simon's timeskip voice and talking about everyone banding together, guys, and that immediately shifts my brain into 'This is Fantasy Gurren Lagann?' mode.

Rental Magica - Totally Not Ghost Detectives, Whole Extra Episode of Notes - I can't think of many jokes for this one, damn. Okay, it's about an agency that rents out mages to people who need them for exorcisms or dispersal of latent magical fields or shit. Main character is a bumbling, Yuuri-a-like fool who has a super-future-seeing demon eye and a nifty eyepatch thing to match. Looks good - another 'big series'.

Shugo Chara - Why God Why, Magical Girl, Why The Fuck Am I Watching This - I-I don't know. Okay? I don't know why everyone in my house has started watching this fucking series. It's magical girl, okay, about a goth punk kid who's only pretending to be a goth punk kid because everyone knows she's a goth punk kid wanting to open up and blossom and shit, and she gets three little internet flying personae to help her and there's. eggs and shit and I don't know what god.

You're Under Arrest 3 - It's You're Under Arrest, heathens. If you don't know what it is go read up on your classic anime. This is more of it. No other reason is needed.

There.

No, I am not trawling through the 15,000 dating sim adaptions out this season.

Yes, someone needs to sub shetchbook already in an avi format.
