time has been a wooshing, records a being purchased and loudly played.

the funnest has been LOOK UP HI-FI which was a night of reggae/ska and euphoric EURO-TRANCE (joke) that me and my housemate sam put on here in Sheffield. We paid so you cheapsters could get in free and packed it to capacity. And there were subwoofers the size of fridge-freezers to play with, which we did lots, and not a single complaint from the hoardes of Kingdomites outside in bar one.

been buying a lot of 7" dub and such from dusty corners of the steel city..

my favourites are two versions on the stalag (Sister Nancy - Bam Bam) riddim, one is Super Beagle 'Dust a Sound Boy' (which has a wicked vocal on the tune of the Willie Williams Real Rock version 'Armageddon Time') and the other is Yami Bolo 'When a Man In Love' which has delayed vocals like 'Bam Bam' (get an mp3 here)

so if you are around sheffield or are coming near come and listen to me play:

Friday 12th March - Stuff't Olives - Fusion and Foundry, Sheffield Uni
Thurs 18th March - Well Charged - with the 4Series Sound crew out of Wolverhampton (yes!) - Fez Club above Po Na Na

and its a bit hush hush but we're doing another Look Up Hi-Fi on Thu May 6th with Soul Masters playing live and some serious bongo madness so if you're a local def. try and make it for that one, start of the summer thing!
