Haku was texting me the details and offhandedly mentioned today in Japan is a holiday called Setsubun, which marks the beginning of spring. Not that you could tell it from the weather we've been having, but anyway...
Apparently it's also a time of cleansing, which is performed by throwing soy beans at an oni and saying "Oni out, luck in!"
So.
Does this mean we should throw soy beans at Onizuka when they come home?
