Spent most of the day in the city - no one's gonna read this entire entry

Drove in with my dad, saw his office again - oddly, not that different from a couple weeks ago. But the people are nice, and he has a sweet corner office. Called Di, she was working out (talk about motivation - sigh, I wish I had that willpower), so hung around the office a little longer until she was all dressed and stuff. Met her at Barnard (surprising little female oasis in the very grey surrounding area), then we walked and talked our way down to Tasty D Lite (is that how you spell it?). Had some yogurt, frozen-styled. Walked back up to Barnard, stopping briefly at Kim's Mediapalace, just long enough to be shot down by an employee because Di doesn't have a credit card (or frankly, a photo ID). Then back up to Barnard, where we rejoiced in the splendor of air-conditioning whilst waiting for my father to meet me. Talked about intensely personal things like whether I make my bed or not.

Next came a goodbye hug from Di, with promises of future visits from both people (Saturday?). Then a brief jaunt on the subway down to Grand Central with my father, which concluded with me getting stuck in the revolving door exit of the Met Life building (why do I tell you people these things?). Finally extricated myself (stupid umbrella), and we walked up to my brother Sam's apartment. My dad went off to a business lunch, and Sam finally took me to Bully's. It was fantastic! Apparently the head chef and the owner know him by name, since he's been eating there since they opened. Well, when I say by name I mean "the guy who covers the Yankees." But close enough.

So yeah, Bully's. They have these crazy sandwich names. I got the "Fat Hands Louie," but my favorite was "El Gobblero." After lunch, walked up to find a Jamba Juice. After pointing the place out to Sam (much to his surprise), we both enjoyed some strawberry smoothies. I asked for a regular size smoothie, but the person supersized mine, so I looked like an idiot walking around with a tub of smoothie while my brother had a normal little 16 oz thingy (well, little is relative in this case).

After sipping the smoothies, we headed across the street to this little mall thing. Sam looked at some baseball gloves, and I threw out the rest of my smoothie. I feel bad about wasting it - Live 8 and starving children in Africa and all that, but really, I couldn't finish it. Then finally got a hold of my other brother Dan (Charles, the final brother, went back to his home in DC on Tuesday), who is working as a summer associate at a NYC law firm. Sam and I went to his offices (very nice digs), poked around, annoyed him, and then it was time for me to head back home.

On the way down to Grand Central, Sam was cool enough to go into Midtown Comics with me (I'm such a dweeb) and grab some comics for the train home. Bought comics, caught train, came home and basked in the cool atmosphere of my house.

And the rest of my day was pretty uneventful. Downloaded some new songs from iTunes (thanks to Sam for the gift certificate). Jane's Addiction, Motley Crue, Los Lonely Boys (I really like their song "Heaven").

S'all good.

Catch ya on the flip side.

PS: Patrick Flueger and Joel Gretsch from The 4400 are hot. Or at least, Diana and I think so. And possibly Laura - I haven't gotten a full decision from her yet.

PPS: This entry is way too long already, but Iowa in 4 days!!!!!!!

uhhhh
