I just got back from seeing "Sin City"

It was a very good movie - artistically, a beautifully done film, black and white with dots of color that added a lot to both the characters and the plot. Suprisingly, the three stories told wove together well enough to be a cohesive, coherent piece, and the performances on the whole were thought-out and sincere. All three "leads" (Bruce Willis, Mickey Rourke, and Clive Owen) did a wonderful job and captured the mood of the grimy, corrupt environments of their story, but the rest of the cast was equally powerful. A warning, however - the movie contains large amounts of graphic violence, and some nudity, which earned it the R rating. And it's a different type of violence from Kill Bill - not just gore, but torture and more. Overall, 3.5 stars out of 4.

Unfortunately, tonight I have massive amounts of Garraty and other hw to do, so I couldn't go to Blades Against Aids - grrrrr. Well, I'd better get started on that.

Catch ya on the flip side.
