Forecast for today is..... Seattle.
There is something about living in Florida in the summer months that makes sense. Every afternoon, when im not in the lab working, I look east and see an intense swarming of dark clouds waiting to liberate themselves of all the pent up moisture they have gathered crossing the Atlantic. I look forward to the afternoons because rain/thunderstorms provide down time. It is nature’s way of telling all not to rush, that whatever is pending can simply wait until it’s passed.
Thoughts during the day’s first downpour
During the last month the only function I recognize is “me.busy();”it seems that I really haven’t physically started much of anything until this week because the last few weeks have been spent making connections, researching, and simply getting involved into summer with friends and family. I can’t help but always want to be out eating, watching a good flick, downloading new tunes, planning trips, or simply being outside in the night air.
I’ve officially been working at the SGA(Student Government Association) Lab for three weeks now and I can’t help but love the enviroment. Everyday is a new person or situation ;
Some Particular People:
Anna Sigur***** - She is an Icelandic thirty something who use to practice with múm and has a daughter who is good friends with sigur ros.
And her last name begins with “Sigur” … how nice.
Roy Frasier- Is a man with a particular quality that borders on multiple personality but also bewilderment ; well everything except flying and playing basketball.
Situations:
Learning the Apple Platform better (7 G4’s soon to be G5’s …people avoid the MAC like the Puerto Rican Plague), Printing, MIT blackjack secrets, Flirting,….the basics!
I’ve been working on two major projects this summer and they take up most of my free time. Or I like to tell myself.
Projects:
Building Automation - Learning to secure the assets of the Digital Media Building and researching a work plan that involves integrating (and testing) technologies like X10, RFID tags, 80211, Bluetooth, ID cards, WebSphere Database. Bla blab laBAMA!.
Def Jam Records/ RawVibe Entertainmet
I made a connection with a woman named Kelly B. out in California who is working for Def Jam this summer and she is in charge of starting a new label called RawVibe. She has asked me to be tested with one other person to do the website for RawVibe. I’m completey excited about this and hope that it proves to propel me in the direction I wish to pursue.
I’ve also been dabbling with some writing in the last month and have officially been published with UpScene Magazine. Thanks to the Orange Ave Crew! (merrakech and lornoss) http://www.upscenemagazine.com/music/reviews/shows.html

I return to the reality of these moments with rested thoughts; an so, the function loops.
