So, give me your soul and I'll give you a dollar,
that's really about all they are worth these days.
I'm aware that nothing makes sense anymore
and it's hard to explain but I'll find a way.
You're world isn't what it used to be,
but this was all your choice, no going back
You can not correct the mistakes that you've made
you can't make up for the things that you lack.
The stars will all fall down at your feet
and the trees will steal the moon light.
You can't feel the water as it pulls you under
and you'll sink down slowly without a fight.
You won't cry for help as the world collapses
Only silence will be your closest friend
The one who has kept you safe and warm,
He won't be around to shelter you in the end.
And as your simple life quietly slips away
No one will even notice it happen, not even you
And you'll sell your soul for a dollar that day
and maybe some sort of false hope will pull you through.
