school update
A few of the happenings at Swanson:
- For 'Talent Day' I was able to watch a 7 year old sing "Bubbly" - knowing the background of the song, it was creepy.
- After looking at a picture of their pregnant teacher before giving birth, a kid asked me if I was pregnant too... gotta find time to workout and yes - I will submit a request that he has to stay in 2nd grade another year... maybe even put him back to first grade next year.
- In word study, students had to find their spelling words through onsets and rimes. I had to make an announcement that "skank" is a slang word and not a nice word, so I didn't want to see it on their spelling list. I initially stated that "skank" was not a word, but a kid stated that his mom uses the word all the time... I think the kid did have an older sister...
