Exciting news on the workout front. I was talking to my trainer, Cassandra, last night and she said that if I'm willing to hold on 6 more weeks, that she'll come to the gym with me and train me once a week for free! Huzzah! I miss my Cass time!! She's the perfect trainer for me. She knows about my binge problems. She knows I have to laugh to ( Read more... )

How long have you been on this workout kick and what kind of progress have you seen this far?

I was working with a trainer last year from may til August and I saw good steady weight loss and increase in my energy levels (I use exercise to balance bipolar) and ability to do things. In September I fell into a pretty large depression. I unfortunately undid a lot of my weight loss progress between September and January. I'm just getting back into routine now and I'm finding it easier to start than before so I'm hoping a lot of what I undid is quickly reversable and I can slip back into my routine quickly.

I had lost 2-3 pants sizes, and 40 lbs. I've gained back 25 lbs and 1 pants size.

Yay! That's awesome!!! I need to find some women workout partners as well. It sounds like you have a good plan going.

I need people to compete with to maintain my focus. I'm very much someone who compares themselves to what others are doing. Since I'm mostly focused on endurance right now, I'm competing against myself but if I'm going to see real progress, I'm going to have to get a little mad at myself.

I TOTALLY understand, which is exactly WHY I'm so frustrated working out with my husband and son. Not only are they dropping body fat like its just melting, they're still eating pretty much whatever they want AND getting stronger quicker. I GET that I'm different, but I would REALLY like to be working out with someone who was closer to my level so I didn't walk out of the gym so damned discouraged... I feel like I'm busting my ass, giving up so much and not much to show for it.

I have the same need to compete with SOMEONE and see SOME changes regularly. (Plus, they don't even get the PMS bloat, either!! :)
