[Being an absent-minded sort of person, it took quite some time for Austria to realise he had a guest in his house. Of course he'd noticed when Prussia first brought him there, but it soon slipped his mind. After all his younger self is a very quiet child. He assumed the boy had returned home, or gone to roam free on the meme, but in fact it appeared that he had been living in Austria's house all along, being doted upon by the housekeeper and maids. This is what comes of having more rooms than you know what to do with and staff that are highly skilled at espionage.
So now that he's aware of his little housemate, he is making an effort to keep an eye on him; currently he's reading in his study while the child plays at his feet. It's an extremely odd feeling to be babysitting one's own younger self, but other than that he's quite used to playing the distant patriarch. And a self-absorbed part of him feels quite sorry for himself at that age, preferring to keep him out of harm's way. In any case, it's a lot more peaceable than the relationship between Prussia and her tiny alter ego...]
