Entry time

I keep on thinking about updating my lj and although nothing interesting is going on now, I think I will just so I can feel extra cool again.

Things are going pretty well... I live in Brighton, MA (Boston basically) in the first floor of a house with three other girls, two adorable kittens, and a Super Nintendo. The landlords live upstairs which has its upsides and downsides. Up sides: They fix things immediately when they break. Down sides: They flip a shit if someone parks in the driveway even if they're using one of the tenants' spots. For example, if my roommate Kaitlin leaves for the weekend and my other roommate Nicole has a friend staying over that weekend and wants that person to use Kaitlin's spot, the landlords freak out. Seriously, what the hell. As long as there are no extra cars in the driveway, who cares? So when I have guests over they have to park in Guam. But besides that, it's a cool place to live.

I am obsessed with the kittens. They are orange and white and brother and sister named Zoey and Bailey. We have definitely bonded. We read together at night and they jump into my suitcases and backpacks and stay there for hours while we frantcially search the house for them, but you can't get mad at them because they're so freaking adorable. I miss them when I am gone for a day or two. I am only 23 but am officially a crazy cat lady.

I'm doing the same thing at work as last year.... being the listing queen at a real estate company. Everybody is really nice there. However, it's frustrating because I have to pay for rent, utilities, food, transportation, etc... by myself and my paycheck doesn't cover it, so I'm literally not making any money this summer. It's frustrating, but I have some saved so I guess I'll get by, and it was a lesson in independent living. Next year I really want to be a nanny and have a free room, make an ass-ton of money, and access to stealing food from the kitchen. I would have zero expenses! Woo hoo. i looked up some ads on Craigslist, and some of the jobs are pretty amazing. One woman is single and has 6 and 7 year old girls and she has a COOK AND A MAID also and pays the nanny's airfare for trips the family often takes to Asia. Holy shit, I hope she posts the ad next summer too.

I went down to Pennsylvania last month for a friend's wedding from Susquehanna. It was nostalgic going back, since I transfered from there, but I'm kind of glad I did. It took me 26 hours round trip by bus to get there, it reeks of dog shit, and there is nothing to do. But it was fun seeing people I hadn't seen for a while and learning that putting kardimin (not sure how to spell that, but it's the spice in pumpkin pie) in apple sauce makes it as addictive as crack.

I came to Maine for two days and went to the doctor, dentist, and orthodontist and am so glad those are out of the way for the next 6 to 12 months.

I'm going to Israel in a month for 10 days for Birthright so I guess that should be fun. Then it's back to school! I'm actually kind of excited about that, because I will have a great roommate and will finally be living in a suite and not a freshman hell hall. Furthermore, we plan on getting pets in the form of sea monkeys or the like.

In other news, don't go into Yahoo France chatrooms unless you want to get hit on by sketchy guys. I went there to practice my French and left with 5 invitations to Paris with free flight and room and board and probably rape too. So, I was wondering how I'd practice my French, and then I was stranded during a long-ass thunder, lightening, and hail storm and found myself in a convenient store waiting it out. I started talking to the cashier, and it turns out he's from Lebannon but for some reason speaks French fluently. So we started talking and it was a lot of fun, even though we were interrupted intermittently by a crackhead asking for $50 to "get home." So, I now go to Nora's Convenience every time I need a good French conversation.

And lastly, I'm thinking that colleges should start teaching a psychology course about child actors and why they are messed up now-- because they didn't have a childhood, because they were told what to do all the time, because they had identity conflict, because they were confused about who their real family was, etc... I'm watching Full House now and think that course would be especially relevant to this show.

Hope you're all having a great summer!
