untitled and unfinished

They say clothes and hair don’t make the woman.
I suppose whoever they are said something true
But when it’s your heart and soul that’s changed
And everything in your life if is rearranged,
I can’t help but wonder if there’s still room enough for me

You’ve been there for as long as I can recall
And leaving you to go off into the world wasn’t easy
I’ve always come back, no matter how far or long
But there’s always some part of you hiding or gone
I can’t help but wonder if they’re the parts that brought you to me

You say He leads your actions, your words, your life
He’s but a distant memory in my mind, almost ashamed
You believe in things for the good of human kind
I believe in the equality for humans of any kind
I can’t help but wonder if there’s an air of supremacy over me

Love has caught you off guard or so you think
It’s he that showed you the light and gave you life
But what if the direction he leads you is down the wrong path?
You’ve got your bible, but where’s the map to find your way home
I can’t help but wonder if there’s too much of him over me

It’s not that I want you to go back to being a mouse
Or that I’m afraid you might leave me behind
The world is your playground, if you’d only see
You’re the best friend I’ve ever known in my 21 years
I can’t help but wonder if there’s too much space between you and me

I love you, you fool.

Just don’t leave me wondering about the future of you and me.

best friend
