Splogging

I'm almost completely finished with 2 of my projects: new server, new design. As of right now, Word Press is fully functional. Which only benefits me, of course. I now receive an e-mail when a comment is posted, a feature I haven't had in over a year. (Which would have changed a year ago if I started my projects at that time.) Also, when a comment is posted you are no longer redirected to a blank page.

Now that I get an e-mail for every comment, I almost want to disable this feature all together because of comment spam. (Now called Splogging.)

If my blacklist gets any longer, Word Press will reject every comment submitted. I'm even getting bombarded by trackback spam.

So, my question is for fellow Word Press users: What plugins or methods are you using to combat spam? I'm trying to figure out the best approach without having to moderate 50+ comments a day and still have "real comments" without them getting lost in the blackhole of blacklists.
