This is one of those days where I have had to physically stop myself from grinning from ear to ear...
Moodle reminded me yesterday that we first heard about 'SubUrbia' last fall. I remember thinking how cool it sounded but I would have never guessed on that night which I infamously sang "Holding Out for a Hero" a capella at 'The Music Man'/"Pillbox"/"A View from This Room" auditions that on January 26, 2005 I would be cast as SOOZE!!!
I am soo excited about this. I love the role and it IS going to love me back.
PLUS I get to make out with CHRIS FORD, sooo hawt.
GODDAMN, I value rejection from mainstage work/all those class/directing scenes and short plays. It has made me the determined confident bitch I am today. WHEEEE!!
Hooray for my 1st full-length straight play casting!!! OOOO and best of all THERE IS NUDITY and I am not encouraged to lose weight! Isn't that amazing-being probably the most meaty ingenue-esque type to grace Tucker Theatre in..years, I would say...PANTLESS, no less. WOwZERS!!!
But seriously, the best part of today was Ms. A. stepping out of her office and asking me if I wanted a script. I was like, "umm, yeah, I just don't know what to do with myself right now." Then she talked to me and told me that Crosby was really excited for me and fuck it was just soo rewarding, when I think about how much this school, SHE especially has helped me grow. IRONICALLY, enough though, my biggest obstacle (my over-the-top-instincts)as an actress helped me to get this part because I get to do this crazy performance art piece in it. OMG, I fucking love this soo much.
What makes this even more fucking awesome is the rest of the cast:
Jeff: Chris Ford
Tim: Zac Reed
Buff: Jordan Tumner (sp?)
Pony: Austin Sanders
Norman: Brian Morgan
Pakeeza: ANNA WHITEHEAD!!! (I'm gonna start calling you Anna Dothead)
BeeBee: RACHEL SWAN! (Honestly, when I auditioned for Beebee I basically played you, so this seems appropriate. I really didn't think it could be last semester but wow, IT BE!)
Erica: Courtney Cowart
SOOZE: ME!
The universe did balance itself out rather quickly though. THe fucking financial aid people aren't giving me my money until MArch, which is scary as shit. SO, I'll try to take out an emergency loan and then ask the rents or maybe the grandrents for an advancement on b-day money so I can go on this trip to Florida next week.
PLUS, my throat is fucking sore from J strangling me. :(
Vagina monologue auditions are tonight.
Oooo and Andrea Funk told me I was Goldie Hawn today. Hawt.
WHEEE!!
