Urgh...I don't really want to go to work. It gets old.
I finished Searching for God Knows What. It was SO good...Donald Miller really has his head on straight about Christianity. For the longest time, I thought something was wrong with me because I wasn't fufilled by acronyms and bullet points and formulas, so I stopped buying into it and felt guilty for doing so, because it kind of felt like I was turning my back on God. But now I realize that I wasn't -- because God wouldn't have created me with a need that he couldn't fill. Donald Miller's book points out that the Bible is actually a book of stories mostly having to do with all kinds of relationships (but mostly man's relationship with God). If we approached it in that way, instead of trying to find hidden formulas for happiness in every verse, we would see God in a much different light.
Tomorrow I leave for Summer Welcome at Mizzou. I'm really excited. I've never visited the campus, really. (I know, it was kind of dumb to apply to a school without visiting it first...) So it will be a brand-new experience.
Yesterday I got my meningococcal vaccination so that I won't get meningitis and have my limbs fall off while living in the dorms.
Yesterday, our neighbor brought over the tiniest kitten I've ever seen. Its umbilical cord hadn't even fallen off yet. I don't know where its mother was. It screeched at me until it figured out how to suck on the bottle, and then it ate a lot and fell asleep. It had the softest greyish-black fur and its eyes weren't even open yet.
