Why did the blind woman cross the road?

This was in the news today:

An 84-year-old blind woman was struck and killed by a pickup this afternoon on the Far Southside. The woman was crossing Madison Avenue north of Stop 11 when she was struck by a southbound Ford Ranger at about 3:30 p.m., Lt. Jeff Duhamell of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said. The woman died about an hour later at Wishard Memorial Hospital, Duhamell said. Police have not released her name. The victim was using her white cane to cross Madison from east to west and made it about halfway when she stepped into the path of the Ford, Duhamell said. There is no traffic signal or cross walk in the area where the woman was crossing, Duhamell said. The Ford’s driver was making a delivery for an auto parts store. Police have not released his name.Police do not believe that alcohol or speed played a factor in the crash. State law requires a driver’s blood be tested any time there is a fatal accident, Duhamell said.

What the fuck? She was crossing a major road. AND SHE'S BLIND. Where the heck were the boy scouts?!

Also, I've decided the best way to get back in top model shape is to not eat. Otherwise I will never get rid of my "starving-african-child" stomach. (I'll eat something...but not much. lol)

To get to the other side, Haley
