Dodgeball? Of all the things to do, I never thought I'd be in a place making that a requirement for a day. I'm quite glad that it never happened back home, either. I was good at avoiding Dudley when he wanted to play. Er, that was my cousin, but he was rather large and rather good at throwing things hard, if he could manage to aim. If he hadn't ( Read more... )

england has dodgeball tournaments, unaffected, harry is antsy

It's a bit like avoiding a bludger, isn't it? Though that could mean the balls or your cousin. All that aside, I was wondering when that beach idea of yours would happen-the 25th sounds about right.

As for the second thing, well... It definitely took some getting used to. Can't help but shake the feeling that I'm getting a bit of a holiday while everything that's happening at Hogwarts... I don't like it any more than you do, Harry.

I did try to cobble together some form of Quidditch-and so did you, apparently-but with only one broom, it's a bit difficult. The twins had their shop going for a bit too, but they've gone.

It wasn't mine, actually. I've just been making announcements about it.

I don't even have anything to return to.

I thought I wanted this, even, but it's driving me a bit mad without anything to do.

Right, it was Hermione's on the day you decided to chat up absolutely everyone. I suppose I ought to find something to swim in, now.

You've had this one thing to work towards your whole life. Now that it's all over, it's understandable. But if it helps at all, you're welcome to my broom when you need it. I go a bit mad some days, just hanging about, and flying definitely helps.

I suppose you will. We've never had much of a chance to do something like this, have we?

I'd like that.

I might need it right now. It's not that I want more trouble, more problems, but this place only gives you things to react to, and you can't really act against it.

Swimming in the lake's a different thing altogether. Mostly because you've got the squid to deal with on top of Scotland being bloody freezing most of the year.

It all goes against what we've done at home, doesn't it? We're all so used to just fighting back and as much as I hate admitting it, we've not really got the option here.

And, well. I thought you might. The broom's already outside your door.

I prefer being lakeside, actually.

That's it, Ginny. This place is really bloody annoying with what it'll let us do and not do, and we can't do anything. The Deities aren't like the Death Eaters. A good charm won't win a duel or a battle; they'll always have control.

I think, if things were completely peaceful here, I might not mind it. But there's always a challenge.

Come to think of it, I do too. Not as cold as the lake, for one thing.

We have a source to aim for in our world. We know where it's all coming from, we know how to fight it. People here rarely see the deities, by the sound of it. They've an office but I doubt they just sit at the desks where you can march right up to them, easy as you please.

But I reckon if things were peaceful here, we wouldn't be here in the first place. I'm sure the deities wouldn't have quite as much fun with that.

You're right. It's definitely a lot warmer.

And if they're called Deities, it's not like we can easily fight them.

There has to be a reason why we're here.
