PENGUINS. SNUGGLING. OMG. Watch 'March of the Penguins' it is FULL of penguin snuggles. Also, cats are the snuggliest creatures in existence *squishes them*

1) a. Hugging between lovers; c. Spooning; d. Reverse spooning (facing one another) ;g. Any embrace in non-standing position (ie, involves furniture)- there must be considerable body contact though. Sitting with someone between your legs and wrapping your arms around them counts, for example; j Other-also happens between mostly-platonic friends, sometimes.

2) i. a lover ; iii. a (very good) friend; vi. an animal

Yes! I must see that movie. Once I was grocery shopping and every time I went down an aisle, there was a mother yelling at her sobbing child, sometimes in foreign languages. But when I got in line at the check out, there was a TV screen advertising that movie's release. There was a movie clip of a mommy penguin teaching the wee-est, fuzziest penguin you've ever seen how to waddle and it was so cute and I forgot all about modern-day American motherhood.

And thank you for your input. I think you and I are mostly on the same page. Maybe it's just the rest of the internets that is weird.

SNUGGLING IS THE BEST THING EVER

Snuggling is:
c. Spooning.
d. Reverse spooning (facing one another).
g. Any embrace in non-standing position (ie, involves furniture).
i. Sustained non-sexual hugging.

I think it's appropriate to snuggle...
i. a lover.
ii. a hookup.
iii. a friend.
iv. a family member.
vi. an animal.
vii. an inanimate object.

Yay, okay! Thank you, Liz!

(May I ask what inanimate object you'd like to spoon/snuggle with?)

I forgot about stuffed animals. I'm sorry!

I still snuggle mine when I'm falling asleep, and I probably will until the end of time or until I get to snuggle real people every night. They are love.

OMG SNUGGLING PENGUINS. ♥

Snuggling is = c, d & i. And then some, but it's not the sort of action I can put into words without sounding like a complete loon, so. ;)

snuggling (v)
sustained body contact over a large area (chest to chest or chest to back, not just side by side) frequently performed in a reclining or sitting position. depending on the weather the use of blankets may be appropriate.
'snuggling' is distinguished from 'canoodling' by the presence of a calm or contented feeling, frequently associated with safety or comfort. (canoodling usually involves more teasing, flirting, and joking.)
snuggling is a restful and restorative pasttime, and the full benefits are achieved when both parties are old or close friends, lovers, or other people in a position of trust. hookups may fall into this category, but successful snuggling between almost-strangers requires a certain kind of person.

Can I incorporate your definition into my Brittword English 2.0 dictionary? It's lovely. (And canoodling is a fantastic word!)
