Hailli and Kelly came over Monday afternoon so we could go to the mall together to buy Scream to get our spot in line for the signing on Wednesday. So now, Kelly and I have two Scream CDs. Anyway, they spent the night so it would be easier to leave Tuesday morning. I finished the mix CDs I was making for the guys, and decided to put in some printed out macros of them along with the CD booklets. Kelly and I didn't sleep at all, and Hailli only got about an hour or two in on my couch while we were slowly getting ready, haha.
My brother took us a little before eight, and we stopped at CVS to stock up on some food and stuff. (That we barely ate, for the record..) Driving there, he suffered through us singing along to Tokio Hotel and dancing like Bill. He got to witness all the weird looks we got, though.
We got to Detroit around nine. When we got there, there weren't that many people in line. He parked behind The Fillmore in a two hour spot because he wasn't planning on staying. While walking to the line, we passed the crew bus. (We didn't really figure that the crew had their own bus at the time, but we also weren't sure if it was Tokio Hotel's bus.) We got in line and started getting excited because there weren't that many people there. Plus, we had the Live Nation tickets, which guaranteed us in the early entry line. Shortly after we lined up and my brother left, more people started lining up. Elyse,
guitarheroe23, ended up being RIGHT next to us, which was pretty funny. Hailli and I have talked to her on here before because I'm going to help her make graphics for the street team site. For a few hours we all talked a bit, sang along to Elyse's iPod, got bothered by bums, and watched the crew flick cigarettes out of their bus window.
Around noon, a group of us decided to walk to a Subway around the block to get some food and go to the bathroom. When we came back, we had barely sat down when a guy told anyone who had Live Nation tickets to go across the street. Hailli, Kelly and I said bye to Elyse and everyone else and grabbed our stuff and ran across the street. We ended up lining up right next to a super cool girl named Danielle. (THDGaja on the TH US Forum and Gaja on tokiohotelfiction.com :D) Then Ashley, a girl that we had made friends with across the street, realized she had a Live Nation ticket and lined up right after us. We baked in the sun and praised clouds that came around for a few hours. I think it was around three or four that the Tokio Hotel bus came rolling in. We all stood up and waved with huge smiles. A lot of people ran over to where it was parked, and most of us witnessed them walking off and into the venue. Pretty cool. For the rest of the time, we made more friends in line and mimicked the boy's noises, talked about fan fiction, sung more, and generally made fools of ourselves while the people across the street glared at us.
Finally, around six, it was time to go in! They led the Live Nation line to the doors first and split us into two lines: girls and boys. For a few minutes we freaked out, thinking that the barricade was going to get filled up before we could have a chance to get in. Once Kelly, Hailli and I got done showing our tickets, we tried our best not to run into the place. (Mean guys were yelling at everyone not to..) Once we hit the steps going down, we started jumping down and eventually ran to the barricade. Yes, the barricade! We started jumping and getting super excited, because this was our first show being on barricade. We were right in front of where Georg, the bassist, would be playing. I was even more excited about this, because I adore him and his luscious hair. I ended up being right next to Ashley, too, which was awesome.
For about an hour, more people filed in as we all waited for them to go on. We passed the time by raving over our barricade spot even more, talking to the hilarious security guards, singing along with the songs they were playing, and going "OH, OH! WE SEE YOU!" whenever we would see a figure pass behind the huge curtain. Finally, we heard Gustav's drumsticks start hitting the symbols softly, and their curtain fell. Everyone FREAKED out. I can't even explain the rush that went through me once the curtain fell. Anyone who goes to concerts will probably know what I'm talking about. I can barely even remember the first song being played. I just remember gawking at the band, screaming and bobbing my head around like crazy. The second song was 1000 Oceans, and even though Hailli and I had our glowsticks hanging over the barricade, we were still in shock mode and didn't even hold them up. I realized this later and we just cracked them then. Hers fell over the barricade at some point and one of the security guards ended up messing with it, but I held mine up for most of the show. Being against the barricade was perfect during the show, except when random arms kept pushing in between mine and Ashley's head. Some obnoxious girl ending up pushing in between Ashley and I about halfway through the show, despite my efforts to push her back. After that I still had an arm right against my head and neck, even when I would actually lift her arm up out of the way or nudge it with my head.
Since I was directly in front of Georg, I got about five pedo grins/stares during the show. SO. GREAT. I also witnessed many Georgasms. I had my eyes on him and Gustav most of the time, because they were the ones I could see the best. Bill would come over to our side a lot, too. One time he came over, he reached out to the audience and grabbed Hailli's hand. When he was pulling back, I touched his finger, which was really cold, hahah. Another time he came over, I met eyes with him and sang. I can't even remember what song that was. I was a lucky it was a song I knew the lyrics to, though, hahah. (I still haven't learned all of their English songs because I like the German ones better.) Tom stood right in front of us at one point, though he was looking out towards the rest of the audience more. That didn't stop me from holding up my hand and playing air guitar, though. During Live Every Second, me and Hailli went crazy and air drummed to the beginning while head banging. (
Here's a video with the song.) She says she thinks she saw Bill look over and smile at us, hahah.
There were two encores: Rescue Me acoustic and Durch Den Monsun. Rescue Me acoustic was really cool because I got to see Georg's fuckin' awesome acoustic bass. However, I was the most excited about Durch Den Monsun. It was their only German song in their set. It's the first song of theirs that I completely learned in German, and it was their first single in Germany. Bill had the biggest, most ADORABLE smile when he stopped singing at one point and we were all belting out the lyrics. I can't even begin imagine what him and the band were feeling at that moment. It must have been beyond amazing.
Unfortunately the show ended after about an hour, and Kelly, Hailli and I poured out of the venue with the rest of the fans. We walked over to Hockeytown Cafe where my dad and his friend Gary were. We were totally awake until after we sat down and gulped like, three drinks down. We ordered pizza but only ate a little even though we hadn't ate much that day. We came home and they crashed on my bed while I crashed on the floor. I didn't get much sleep because I was still thinking of the concert, but whatever.
Even though I didn't bring a camera to take any pictures, I don't regret it at all. I was completely lost in their performance and Georg's eyes for the entire show, and I loved it. I STILL randomly get excited about it and wish it could happen a million times over.
On Wednesday morning I woke up around ten because I had a hair appointment with Leo at 12:30. Hailli and Kelly chilled at my house while I was gone. He dyed my hair, which looks great now because he's amazing. Anyway, I came back from that around 1:30 and started getting ready to go to Oakland Mall for the signing.
We left around 2:30. In the car, I sealed up the cases I put their mix CDs in with Seasame Street stickers. (
The lulz behind that.) I put extras in the cases, too. When we got there, we realized we could have left before four and would have been alright. The line was insane. They had 300 spots for the signing and I'm pretty sure it was damn close. Shortly after we lined up, their camera guy came around and filmed the line. I really hope we'll end up on TH TV. Hailli, Kelly and I kept leaving the line and going to the back because we wanted to be last or close to it. That was based on the theory that people remember the first and last things on a list or something similar. Yeah, lame.
I can't even remember what time it was when we got up really close to the entrance of Hot Topic. That's when our nerves started kicking in, haha. I was really fidgety. Finally a girl let us walk into the store and my nerves kicked in even more, if that was possible. We stood in front of the table with like, two or three people in front of us. I can't really remember. I remember looking at Georg in between two people, and him looking up right at me and meeting my eyes. Bill was seated first, then Tom, Georg, and Gustav.
Hailli was in front of me and managed to blurt out "Your music is amazing." to Bill, and he said thank you all cute. She brought her Tokio Hotel shirt that I made for her to sign. When I was up, I set down
the picture that I had printed out for them to sign. He looked down at it for a second and then flipped it over, saying "I'm gonna sign the back!" in the cutest tone. I was too shocked to laugh, but I definitely did after, and still do. Then I set down his CD in front of him and he said "Thank you!", and I said "Your welcome!" My paper was probably all the way down to Georg or Gustav by this point, but I barely noticed. I sat Tom's CD down in front of him and he looked down at it for a second, his marker ready to sign, before he looked up at me and asked "Is this for me?" I managed to blurt out "Yeah!" in a girly tone and dumb grin, but at least I did it. I don't think I even looked at Georg and Gustav in the face as I set their CDs down and grabbed my paper then scrambled off to find Hailli. I distinctly remember Gustav wearing red, though. Kelly was after me, and she brought a huge picture of Bill that she had drawn for art class to give to him. He unrolled it and said "Wowww!" after looking at it, then thanked her. She printed out
this picture among other macros for them to sign, but she only ended up handing them this one. She thinks Bill may have read it a bit, and that Tom might have gave it a weird look, hahah.
After that we scrambled out of the store and met Kelly's boyfriend, then went to go sit in some restaurant close to one of the exits. We were freaking out a bit, but we weren't screaming like a lot of other fans, which was super annoying. It would have been different had we been outside or something. After sitting for a few mintues, all of the sudden we see a few girls run around the corner towards the exit. Then even more girls. Then MORE. We all just kinda looked at each other and then Hailli and I all but fell out of the booth we were in and started running just for the hell of it. It ended up being their buses getting ready to leave. When they pulled out, we all waved goodbye and a few crazies ended up chasing the bus down the parking lot. Before we went back into the mall, I caught a glimpse of Tom's dreads swinging in the window as he turned his head to someone, hahah.
We hung out at the mall for a while Hailli got some school clothes and stuff, and then they came back to get their stuff and left.
It's three, almost four, days after the concert and I'm STILL randomly smiling about everything. TOKIO HOTEL, YOU MAKE MY HEART BURN. xP
