Downtown Boston is making history by growing a new way to ‘Go Green’. An extensive collaboration between Paris-based designers Mario Caceres and Cristian Canonico of INFLUX_STUDIO made recent headlines with their innovative approach to urban air filtration for the SHIFTboston Urban Intervention Contest. TREEPODS are their futuristic creations are derived from recycled plastic and incorporate biomimicry to imitate the carbon filtration characteristics of trees. The canopy of each tree is peppered with solar panels that create and store enough energy to lovingly light up each tree at night similar to the bioluminescent glow of a jellyfish. TREEPODS are one of the best air filtering concepts that promote a clean energy economy.
