In other news....chivalry is NOT dead!
The other day at SBUX, it was pretty slow, and there was a woman who was probably technically "in line", but mostly was sort of putzing around the register looking at the CDs and bottles of water, and pastries, etc...She wasn't standing right in front ready to order or anything, but basically she was there. Some guy, someone much more uh...focused, strolls in and heads straight for the counter, and begins to order. The woman gives him a little bit of a strange look, and he was immediately all apologetic. "Were you in line? I'm sorry, I didn't realize...blah blah blah." The woman is really cool about it. "Oh, sort of, but don't worry about it, I've got plenty of time, not a big deal, blah blah blah." And the guy, continuing to politely fall all over himself with apologies insists on buying her drink. Even though she protested and said it really wasn't necessary, he wouldn't take no for an answer. It was really a cool thing to see, that there are people out there who just...do nice things, and are good people.
Looking forward to the wedding this weekend, and to seeing all my Omaha (and Denver, and Kansas City, and SD...) peeps!
