The middle of a circus ring is a good place to give orders from. Mick supposed he gave a lot of them, but only what had to be given, in his opinion. He had a microphone and a megaphone, and used them both, but neither of them seemed to work out. The megaphone was too square for his taste, like some kind of school days phys-ed control freak. And the ( Read more... )

(OOC: ok, I figured I'd just hop right in here. Forgive me for anything I get wrong, I've never actually seen the R&R circus, just the bit with the Plastic Ono band *embarrassed*)

Amidst the hullabaloo and chaos that was present, a pair of stone-cold brown eyes glanced lazily over it all. Seeing it without noticing.

Yoko was bored.

John had gone off, in his excitable way, to talk and frolick or whatever with friends and fellow stars. Yoko had no real place in all of this. She hardly knew anyone outside of brief meetings, when John would drag her over to meet such-and-such, but there was no one she felt an immediate connection to. Not even a passing interest, even. They were all rather below her.

OOC:// Ok, so I'm starting a new comment as the box is getting mooshed up. This is in response to this thread (I posted this as a new comment yesterday, as no-one's responded I'm taking the opportunity to move it to the new Yoko thread, given the Joined At The Hip-ness of johnandyoko I figure they'll be side by side before long ;-) Also, edited slightly. Sorry for the confusion).

The last comment was this, from Mick:

Mick had a very impressive pout.

"We haven't finished talking about Brian. You can't just have your say and bugger on to the next topic like that. You always do that. Think you can just -- " An irritated little wriggle.BIC ( ... )

He choked, half-jokingly, at the series of insults. He didn't bother to think up a few of his own and instead whirled away for a moment, flicking his warm scarf over his shoulder. The scarf was rendered a little useless by the bare chest beneath it, to point at his watch and direct it toward a lingering stagehand. Then he was back again.

"He needs to sort himself out in time for filming."

Brian, having scowled and retreated a bit without putting up a fight at Mick's snide comment about playing the maracas, was still looking over the list that he was slightly perplexed to find still in his hand when he caught the last sentence in the quiet conversation between John and Mick. He had known that they were talking about him as John had come to his defence, but that nausea was still coming back and forth and so he had resigned himself to keeping quiet for the next few minutes.

He needs to sort himself out...

At first, Mick's tone worried him - it sounded like whoever they were talking about was in real trouble, and it could only someone at the circus and therefore probably a friend. As the last part of the sentence processed, however, he realised abruptly that it was him being talked about and winced as if struck. Going on and on about him to people in other bands now...? For Chrissakes ( ... )

Ah, that was more like it. John watched the exchange with interest, glad to have something else to focus on. He had regarded Brian as a friend, back in the day; before they'd each fallen into the rabbit-hole revealed by LSD and damn near lost themselves in the process, a re-wiring of the brain being evident in each of them after the fact. He raised his hand slightly as Brian addressed him, avidly watching for Mick's reaction at Brian's declaration of leadership ( ... )

"What, he swore at me, and that's putting me in my place?" Mick showed his teeth and tongue and chuckled breathily, "yeah, alright," he twirled and cracked his prop whip, watched them both head off, and sat down to get his nose into his schedule. He would have liked a cold beer to nurse while he did it, but he wanted a clear head even more. As long as he had a clear head, he would have the advantage over Brian.
