shopping for climate change.

Today began my cycling efforts.

I thought a trip to the supermarket would be a nice little test drive ... and good thing I didn't stray too far, because I had to repair my trusty steed on two occasions, either of which could have had me walking home if I didn't manage to identify and fix the issue.

That aside, the ride was nice and the panniers fit my usual twice-a-week shopping load with no problems. I even saved on petrol, emissions and scored myself a little light exercise into the bargain.

Maybe I should change my username to ecochick ... lol.

With Melbourne lined up for one of the hottest summers on record, with local temps already in excess of 30C/85F in spring and our reservoirs at only 40% capacity ... I can't help but feel that even my little contribution towards the slowing of climate change is useful. We also found out we use less water than two people living in a unit with no garden, so that has to be good.

Still, we can do better.
