You're right, obviously. I think I was just dealing with an ingrained family habit of not neutering pure blood animals ... it's a Farmer's Daughter Thing.
I agree, neutering is generally seen as the most humane path because it prevents the birth goodness knows how many unwanted animals many of which end up dying, sometimes in the most horrendous way possible.
As for the bloodlines, I suppose there is a psychological knowledge that two animals might share some blood but at the end of the day they are always going to be two entirely different animals. So love your guys while you have them and good on you for being such a responsible pet owner! If only there were more people like you about there would not be so many animals suffering in this world.
Yeah, I know ... and as someone who does volunteer work for animal shelters I shouldn't even have to think twice. It was a weird family habit-like thing ... I'm better now ;)

And, if you want one, you can have a mini-Jackson to cuddle on that sad day. But there's no need for him/her to be Jackson's blood relative, is there?
